Miranda is draping Lucy with rags.

Miranda's vocabulary is growing everyday. She is like a sponge. She gets into the movies and T.V. programs that we watch. She will ask, "What happened?", "Where'd he go?" "What's that?" If she doesn't know what something is she will call it a monster, dragon, or ghost. She will say "Monster, going to hurt you." I explain to her that nothing can come out of the TV and hurt anyone. She is a little overdramatic. We are usually watching Disney or Nickelodeon and the programs aren't scary.

We go though books and she will point and name all the pictures in the book. However, when it comes to me asking her to bring me something, it is like I am speaking in a foreign language. I will say, "Miranda, bring me the box on the table." She knows what a box is and what a table is, but she will start looking on the ground or in the toy box. She will pick up things to bring me that aren't boxes, then she will start going into other rooms to look. I try to break it down for her, "box on table". Nope that doesn't work. She will turn and look in the opposite direction. I will point. She will either look at the end of my finger, or out in the distance, but never where I intend. We laugh at her. She is so funny. She wants to help and make me happy, but for some reason, "box on the table" just doesn't compute. I usually end up going to get what I need anyway. We keep trying.

Molly's words

Her favorite toy is that blue tent thing, she loves to play "Where's Molly" I'm not sure what she is doing here. She may have been yelling at me.

Molly has been developing a little slower than Miranda did. She is in the normal age ranges, but she hits her milestones about 6 months behind when Miranda hit her's. I used to worry about her, but I have been researching. I have found that when siblings are born so close together, the one born second is usually slower in hitting their milestones. She started walking when she was 17 months old. We had about given up hope :')).
She is now starting to talk. I have been meaning to write down what she and Miranda say. So, I thought I would do that here.

Words Molly says on a regular basis:

Yeehaa (this is what she calls a horse. She usually says it when she is playing with one of the stick horses)

Go Go Go (she says this when I tell her we are going to the park and we need to get their shoes on)

Miranda (I have heard her say this a handful of times, and usually at the top of her voice)

Daddy (all the time)
Hello, Hi (to everybody)

La la

Uhoh

Ki ca (kitty cat)

doggy

quack quack, meow, woof woof

stop (usually to Miranda)

Tickle, tickle

Thank you (comes out more like Tank ooo)

When I want Miranda to come to me and she won't I count to three. If she doesn't come by 3 she gets timeout. I will say ,"ONE". Then Molly will say, "two, three."

That is about it for now. She is getting better and better. She doesn't say Mama much. I think it is because I am always there, no need to call for me.
Next blog I will list some cute things Miranda says.

Blog update

They are playing tickle here.

I have been asked to update the blog. So here we go...

We are not potty training at the moment. I got a nasty cold so it all stopped because I was feeling too tired. I am better now. She has asked to sit on the potty, and we have let her, but still nothing in the potty. She has sat on the potty then got up and immediately peed in the floor. So it is on going. I figure maybe this Saturday, since we aren't doing anything else. Daryl and I will put in a joint effort.

I have neglected to pray with my kids until recently. I didn't think about them being old enough. However, when we dedicated them to the God in our church, we meant it. It wasn't just an empty act.

My good friend Cheryl wrote on her blog about her kids praying before bed, including her son who is the same age as Miranda. So we have begun praying with Miranda before bed. We haven't started making it a habit with Molly yet, but are taking a step at a time.

Miranda has really taken to praying. She gets so excited because she is the center of attention. She has both of us on either side of her bed, and we all put our hands together. She prays in an uninteligable language, known only to God. Then she will say "Mama, Daddy, Grandma, kitties." Then she gets off track and point at my nose, or the light, or something. She has yet to include Molly in the list of people she thanks God for. After she is finished we will usually pray a short pray of thanks for everyone and forgive us for our sins. She is a sweetie.
Thank you, Cheryl for being a good influence.

This too shall pass.

My darling child has now learned 2 things. 1) That I desperately want her to sit on the potty. 2) How she can turn that to her advantage. She is now sitting very well on the potty for long periods of time. She is "holding court". It is usually at times when I really need to be doing something else, or at bedtime and naptime.
We used to listen to Spot bark at night. He would bark and bark and bark. We would laugh and say, "he is preaching." or "he is running for doggy mayor of Parkers Chapel." This is what she is doing. She is preaching, or running for potty queen. She yapps and yapps, I can't understand a word. I just sit in the floor and let her go. There are a lot of things around here that just aren't going to get done.
P.S. She still hasn't done anything in the potty yet.
